Mumbai for some is coming home to your own culture and your life style ignoring
the bumpy roads and traffic and an overpopulated city. In Mumbai, Expatriates have
stayed for twice their tenure and have come back again and again as the warmth of
the people here is amazing and the charm of the city is irresistible.

Mumbai being the Financial Capital of India has a lot of inbound expat traffic from
all parts of the world. The presence of Fortune 500 Companies has brought in their
top level management CEOs and COOs. The mid level Companies have their own share
of supporting the bigger Corporates etc.
There are Expatriates in Mumbai who have moved in along with their families from
USA, U.K, Italy, France, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hongkong, Australia and other
parts of the world.
Mumbai is known to be certainly a crazy place (as it is always buzzing with activity
and festivities around the year) and a lot of Expatriates find it an extremely safe
place to live in as most of the residential locations are very safe.
For an easy overview from an Expatriate perspective, Mumbai has typically only a

It depends on where you live in Mumbai as to where you will spend most time. That's
a little simplistic but these tend to be the key areas where most of the Expatriates
reside in Mumbai.
Most of the Expatriates and their families have a car and your own driver and you
will go everywhere using that. There is not much in the way of parks or walks to
go on. Most of the families with children belong to a various private members club
called Breach Candy, The Club (Juhu), Waterstones (Andheri East). All these are
excellent clubs with amenities etc. and you never have to worry about your family.
You can get a membership beginning from 1 year onward to 3 years.
Mumbai also has one of the finest hospitals and very good doctors and dentists -
in all speciality areas and it is a good idea to have elective surgery here and
invite your folks to spend a few days with you.
There are a few expat organisations including mumbai connexions, and the American
Women's Club. Mumbai Connexions have compiled an invaluable guide to living in Mumbai
which covers just about everything it costs about $20 and you should be able to
get hold of it through their website.
