Sewri is located on the Central Railway zone in Mumbai City and Parel is the next popular spot around it. Sewri is known for its Flamingoes who migrate here on the Eastern Sea Short of Mumbai of the Arabian Sea. Over the past 15 years Sewri which was more on an industrial location has benefited from the Real Estate Sector as its skyline has changed.
Dosti Realty around 10 - 12 years launched a Project named Dosti Flamingoes which was sold of in a short span, one of the first few projects with amenities and then came in Ashok Gardens and the same Peninsula group is also developing Celestia Spaces there, which will be one of the Marquee Buildings of Sewri.
Sewri has also been in the news for the past few years due to the Trans Harbour link which is likely to start from Sewri and go all the way to Uran or Ulwe side of Navi Mumbai.
