MMRDA receives three bids to prepare Mumbai metro 14 DPR

MMRDA has received three bids to prepare the detailed project report for the proposed Mumbai Metro Line 14, which will connect Kanjurmarg and Badlapur. The consultancy firms in the fray include established engineering and infrastructure advisers, and their proposals are now under evaluation.

Metro Line 14 is planned as a major east-west suburban connector, with a corridor expected to link Kanjurmarg, Ghansoli, Mahape, Shilphata, Nilje, Ambernath and Badlapur. The project is estimated to cost in the region of Rs 18,000 crore.

Appointing a consultant to revise the detailed project report is a key early step toward firming up alignment, costs and execution. The corridor is intended to ease connectivity across rapidly growing pockets of the extended Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
