Fort

Fort is Mumbai's original commercial district — the area within the boundaries of the old Bombay Fort that the British demolished in 1862 to build the city's first planned business zone. Today it remains the home of the Bombay Stock Exchange (historic premises), the Reserve Bank of India, the Bombay High Court, several major banks, and Mumbai's finest collection of Victorian Gothic and Art Deco architecture.

CST station is at the edge of Fort, while Churchgate terminus is a 10-minute walk through Hutatma Chowk.
