Sachin Tendulkar Makes Major Lonavala Property Purchase

Sachin Tendulkar has made a major addition to his real-estate holdings with the acquisition of approximately 3.86 acres in Lonavala for around ₹70 crore.

The acquisition was completed through three conveyance deeds registered on September 4, 2026.

Together, the properties cover approximately 1.68 lakh sq ft in Maval Taluka, Lonavala.

3.09 Acres Account for Most of the Deal

The largest property measures approximately 3.09 acres and was acquired for ₹63.69 crore.

It also includes an existing structure measuring approximately 2,100 sq ft.

Tendulkar acquired 100% ownership of this parcel, while his interest in the remaining two properties is structured as a 50% undivided share.

Three Transactions Total ₹70 Crore

The second property transaction was valued at ₹4.56 crore and involves 2,302.27 sq metres of land.

The third was valued at ₹1.75 crore and covers 803.93 sq metres.

Together, the three deals amount to approximately ₹70 crore, with a blended effective rate of around ₹4,168 per sq ft. Stamp duty of approximately ₹4.20 crore was paid.

Why Lonavala Continues to Attract Premium Buyers

Lonavala has long been one of the preferred weekend-home markets for buyers from Mumbai and Pune.

Its property market includes ready luxury villas, bungalows, plotted developments and larger land parcels that can accommodate customised private homes.

The latest transaction adds to evidence of demand from HNIs and celebrities for larger land holdings in established leisure destinations.

Importantly, the registration documents establish the land acquisition, but the reports do not establish what Tendulkar intends to develop on the property. It would therefore be premature to describe the site as a future villa, farmhouse or development project.

Sandeep Sadh’s Take:

Lonavala remains one of the strongest second-home corridors accessible from Mumbai. Large land parcels are particularly attractive to premium buyers because they offer privacy and flexibility that conventional apartment investments cannot provide.
