Sachin Tendulkar Buys 3.86-Acre Lonavala Land for ₹70 Crore

₹70 Crore Land Deal in Lonavala

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has acquired around 3.86 acres of land in Lonavala through three separate property transactions with a combined value of approximately ₹70 crore.

The conveyance deeds were registered on September 4, 2026, and cover a combined area of 15,601.78 sq metres, equivalent to approximately 1.68 lakh sq ft, across four City Survey numbers in Lonavala's H Ward.

Largest Parcel Acquired for ₹63.69 Crore

The biggest of the three transactions involves a 3.09-acre parcel purchased for ₹63.69 crore.

This property also includes an existing built-up structure measuring around 2,100 sq ft. The effective transaction rate for the parcel works out to approximately ₹4,735 per sq ft.

Tendulkar acquired full ownership of this parcel.

Two Additional Land Transactions

The remaining two transactions involve the acquisition of a 50% undivided share in two separate parcels.

One transaction, valued at ₹4.56 crore, covers 2,302.27 sq metres, while the third transaction, worth ₹1.75 crore, covers 803.93 sq metres.

Across all three transactions, the blended effective rate works out to approximately ₹4,168 per sq ft.

₹4.20 Crore Paid in Stamp Duty

Around ₹4.20 crore in stamp duty was paid on the transactions. Property records indicate the land was purchased from Nandan Dhananjay Mehta and Vivaswat Dhananjay Mehta.

The acquisition comes as Lonavala continues to attract buyers seeking large land parcels, luxury villas and vacation homes.

Its location between Mumbai and Pune, established tourism market and availability of larger plots have helped position the hill station as one of Maharashtra's prominent second-home destinations.

Sandeep Sadh’s Take:

Large-ticket land transactions such as this highlight Lonavala's position beyond just a weekend destination. For HNIs seeking larger plots and customised second homes within reach of Mumbai and Pune, the market continues to remain relevant.
